Bin

I started 2024 with a mission: strengthen relationships, champion purpose-driven work, and find joy in the journey.

Last year deepened collaborations that matter. From expanding the features on ActionFunder more than any comparable platform, to supporting Liftango in revolutionising transport globally, to emphasising the Circular Economy with CWM and OPRL – each project reinforced the power of lasting partnerships.

My network of talented freelancers grew, bringing fresh perspectives and possibilities to every challenge. Together, we've proven that meaningful work multiplies when shared.

Between the sprints and sketches, I found time for the important things: new places, live music, and the moments that remind us to look up from our screens once in a while.

Below are a few highlights from the year and may 2025 bring further joy and fresh perspectives.

Move 2024 into the bin to continue.

ActionFunder

  • UX Design
  • Prototyping
  • Accessibility

ActionFunder broke new ground in 2024, cementing its position as a leading corporate giving platform. Through extensive user research and iterative design, we identified and solved key pain points in the grant-making journey.

We introduced new features like instant messaging between funders and grantees, eliminating communication barriers. The new impact dashboard provides clear insights, helping funders understand their community impact at a glance.

Behind the scenes, we have been busy streamlining more touchpoints - from a simplified sign-up flow to multi-user 'grandparent' account and a new robust due diligence flow.

I'm proud that our user-first approach has made corporate giving more accessible and more powerful.

Vegta-pals

From seed to harvest, 2024 saw my allotment flourish.

Tickets for Good

  • UX Audit
  • UX Research
  • UX Design

Following a comprehensive UX audit of Tickets for Good's platform, we identified key opportunities to enhance the experience and build trust with new users.

Major improvements included streamlining event discovery through optimised filtering, redesigning the navigation for intuitive browsing, and simplifying the checkout process to reduce cart abandonment.

The refresh brought consistency to TFG's visual language while maintaining the platform's social mission - making arts and culture accessible to those who need it most.

You can read more detail about how we tackled this project in this article I wrote.

Travel

Rest, explore and experience.

I'm all ears

Troxy
  • Branding
  • Web Development

Something for the ears and eyes - I got involved with more music-minded people.

As part of Troxy's new rebrand from Plaster, we built a new website infusing elements of the iconic venue's Art Deco heritage while modernising the experience for music fans. We integrated the DICE API, added real-time event status, engineered a fully custom backend system for managing events, and overall, provided users with a smoother event discovery experience.

Logo design and branding brought personality to DJ Jessie Rose (Pop Confessional), stark geometry for Man Removal, while conceptual design shaped Losing Dogs' EP, bringing some mysterious 1970s Berlin noir vibes.

Life In Mono, Bristol's rising stars, got a digital home worthy of their sound - clean, dynamic, and ready for their growing audience.

Media

Someimes we need to escape sitting in front of a screen with headphones on.

By sitting in front of an even larger one or experiencing deafining music in person.

Here are some of my favorites of the year...

Film

  • Perfect Days
  • The Substance
  • Dune: Part 2
  • La Chimera
  • The Zone Of Interest

Live Music

  • A Place To Bury Strangers

    Strange Brew

  • Alvvays

    Troxy

    Cardiff Arena

    Forwards Festival

  • Life In Mono

    The Crofters Rights

Immersive Arts

Web Development / Accessibility

I contributed to the website for the exciting launch of Immersive Arts, a UK-wide programme with a total of £3.6 million in grant funding to help artists get ideas off the ground. We ensured the site matched their innovative spirit while maintaining robust accessibility.

We Go Beyond The Label - OPRL

OPRL

Digital Design / Concept Development

How do you showcase the knowledge and expertise of the people behind the national recycling symbol? OPRL's campaign ‘Beyond the label’ by DCW was designed to inject fresh energy into their brand and empower and support clients to go beyond the label.

Sam Allen

From brand identities to creative campaigns, Sam and I have collaborated on countless projects throughout 2024 - though half our calls start with updates on his latest CrossFit injuries. Less of that in 2025 I hope!
